The Dahua DSS Pro Video Channel License (often SKU: DESS-PRO-VIDEO-LICENSE) is the fundamental base license required to add a single video channel—such as an IP camera, thermal camera, or DVR/NVR channel—to the Dahua DSS Pro V8 Video Management System (VMS).
License Overview
The DSS Pro platform is highly scalable, but it uses a “pay-as-you-grow” modular licensing model. While the software itself provides the management framework, you must purchase a license for every stream you want to record or view.
1 License = 1 Video Channel: Each individual camera stream requires one license.
Perpetual License: These are typically “one-time buy” licenses with no mandatory annual recurring fees for the base functionality.
Scalability: DSS Pro supports up to 2,000 video channels per server and up to 20,000 channels in a multi-server distributed deployment.
