The Hikvision DS-KAD706Y-P is an essential hub for any Gen2 2-Wire IP intercom system. It serves two critical functions: it powers your devices and bridges them to the internet through a single Ethernet connection.

Unlike standard network switches, this unit uses proprietary 2-wire technology to send both high-definition video data and power over simple, non-polarized copper pairs (like old doorbell or telephone wires).

The Hikvision DS-KAD706Y-P is a 2-wire distributor that provides power and communication between the door and room station devices, supporting up to six devices and channels. One channel supports a door (DS-KD8003Y-IME2) or room station (DS-KH6320Y-WTE2), while the other five channels support only room stations. This distributor is an IP-over-2-wire solution and allows the Hikvision 2-wire system connect to the internet to support the Hik-Connect mobile app. The 2-wire termination is non-polarity conscious making this an ideal upgrade solution where existing cabling needs to be utilised.

NOTE – this unit is only compatible with the new generation Y series intercoms.
