The Hikvision DS-PM2-S(AU) is a dedicated 3G/4G cellular communication module designed specifically for the AX Hybrid Pro series control panels. Unlike the standard AX PRO (which is fully wireless), the Hybrid series uses this internal module to provide a high-speed cellular path for alarm reporting, SMS notifications, and remote app control.
The “(AU)” designation indicates it is optimized for the frequency bands used in Australia, New Zealand, and surrounding regions.
Primary or Backup Path: It can act as the main communication line for remote sites without internet or as a secondary “failover” backup if your LAN/Wi-Fi connection drops.
Dual-Band & Multi-Network: Supports a wide range of frequencies, ensuring a stable connection even in areas with varying signal strength:
4G (LTE-FDD): Bands B1, B3, B5, B7, B8, B28.
3G (WCDMA): Bands B1, B5, B8.
Full System Control: Once installed, it allows the AX Hybrid Pro panel to send push notifications to the Hik-Connect app and enables SMS/Phone Call alerts for critical alarms.
Wired Reliability: Being a wired module that plugs directly into the main panel’s motherboard, it provides a more stable data interface than external wireless bridges.
