The Milestone XPCODL is the individual Device License (DL) required for every hardware device—such as an IP camera, video encoder, or I/O module—that you want to add to your XProtect Corporate Video Management Software (VMS).
While the Base License (XPCOBT activates the core server software, the XPCODL provides the “seats” for your cameras.
Key Licensing Rules
One License per Device: Generally, you need one license per IP address. For example, a single-sensor camera requires one XPCODL.
Multi-Sensor & Encoders: For video encoders with up to 16 channels, you typically only need one license per IP address. If the encoder has more than 16 channels, one license is required per activated camera.
Audio and I/O: Licenses are not required for speakers, microphones, or input/output devices that are physically attached to a licensed camera.
Scalability: XProtect Corporate supports an unlimited number of device licenses, allowing your system to scale from dozens to thousands of cameras.
