To implement a complete License Plate Recognition (LPR) solution within the Milestone XProtect environment, you need specific device-level licensing for each camera. The Milestone XProtect LPR Camera License (SKU: XPLPRCL) is a mandatory add-on for every individual camera you intend to use for scanning and documenting plates.
Milestone’s LPR system operates on a “modular” licensing structure. To activate LPR on your system, you generally need three components:

1 x LPR Base License: This covers the LPR server software for an unlimited number of servers under one system. It typically includes 5 country modules.

1 x LPR Camera License: You must have one of these for every camera that will perform license plate recognition.

1 x Standard VMS Device License: The camera must also be licensed within your core XProtect VMS (e.g., Express+, Professional+, Expert, or Corporate).
