IR-Secure 40 is a secure, encrypted 40 bit access card format proprietary to Inner Range. When using this format Inner Range is able to guarantee unique site codes and millions of card numbers per site. Inner Range have released a range of cards, fobs and a dual-format reader supporting this format.

IR-Secure 40 cards and fobs are available in two variants, Standard and Registered Site (RS):

• Standard - Site Codes up to 32,768 and Card Numbers up to 65,535
• RS - Guaranteed unique registered Site Codes and selectable card number ranges

The new Dual-format Proximity Reader reads standard Wiegand format cards (such as HID prox) and the new IR-Secure 40 format. The readers are compact, feature an attractive moulding and come at a very competitive price point.

As the readers are capable of reading Wiegand and IR-Secure 40 formats, they are well suited to multi-tenanted applications where different tenants have different card formats. The IR readers also represent an excellent platform for sites to progressively upgrade their access system to the IR-Secure 40 format whilst maintaining backward compatibility with Wiegand format cards for as long as necessary.

Standard cards and fobs purchased across the counter come with over 32,000 site code possibilities offering greatly increased security over standard 26bit Wiegand.
